Start at the machine
Turnings are valued by grade and cleanliness. Separation starts where chips are made.
Dedicated bins per grade prevent the most expensive mistake: mixing.
Oil and coolant
Oil and coolant add weight that is not titanium. They also add processing cost.
Allow turnings to drain. Dry, clean material is easier to process and easier to value.
Keep it free of tramp metal
Steel, carbide inserts and aluminum chips are contaminants. Keep them out of titanium bins.
A clean lot moves faster from offer to collection.
